Why Are There So Many Unsecured Wireless Networks?
There are plethora of wireless networks for home users and businesses. Many business networks are secured, but there are even more that have no security. A person that is riding down a neighborhood would probably be able to connect to many wireless networks. All that they would need is a portable device that allows network connections.
There are two reasons for this. One reason the number of unsecured wireless networks is growing is because some people have no knowledge of securing the network. They simply want their wireless connection to work. They do not know how to secure, and they don’t want to know. For many people this is what happens: they get a router right out of the box and they plug it into their modem. They skip all of the security features and simply start using these devices.
Others that know how to secure the network may not want the hassle of remembering a security key. These are the people that don’t mind sharing their network with others. They may have a router that has a wide range. They may not be worried about who uses their wireless network. They are not concerned about bandwidth or security measures.
