Your Smartphone Can’t Find A Signal? We Can Help
So you-ve paid all this money for a smart phone and then you don-t have a signal. This always seems to happen at the most inopportune time such as when your car breaks down. If this hasn-t happened to you yet, it will someday, and here are some tips to help when it does.
1.Check your towers. With most carriers you can dial 228. If you are outside the area that you originally purchased your phone, or your carrier has bought or built new towers then your phone may not know where they are. By updating your towers you may add that crucial final bar it takes to get a call out and possibly increase your overall signal in that area.
2.Get to higher ground. Hills, mountains, cars and trees can interfere with your signal.
3.Leave the building. Being inside will always decrease your signal. Especially if you-re inside a building built to withstand earthquakes, hurricanes or tornadoes.
4.Hook up to the Wi-Fi. Depending on your carrier you may be able to make a call using Wi-Fi. If your carrier doesn-t offer it there are various apps that you can download that can do it for you.
5.Do a restart. If you haven-t turned your phone off in awhile there is a good possibility you have a bunch of background programs running. Some of those may be leaches that are eating tiny bits of your signal up. A restart is always a good thing to do if you are having problems.
Hopefully one of these will help you get the boost you need. If you are having a recurring issue with your cell signal then you should call your companies tech support. There could be a problem with your phone or a tower problem in your area.
